Standing as a Conservative Candidate

There are numerous opportunities to stand as a Conservative Candidate.

Member of Parliament

If you are considering becoming a Member of Parliament, or would like to know more, we suggest that you contact Conservative Campaign Headquarters (CCHQ) Candidates’ Team at or phone 020 7984 8150.

More information about can be found here (this will download the latest guidance from CCHQ).

If you would like to stand as a Member of Parliament but are concerned about the financial implications, please take a look at the help offered by The Conservative Foundation. The Foundation is currently supporting the Conservative Candidate Bursary Scheme, set up to financially support Conservative parliamentary candidates. This scheme is means-tested and supports candidates who otherwise could not afford to fund their campaigns. The scheme will make sure that financial means are not a barrier to standing for Parliament, meaning our Party can become more representative of the people that it serves.

Local Councillor

Becoming a councillor is an extremely rewarding experience. It gives you the opportunity to help your local community and be part of a dedicated team providing key services for your area. Being a councillor is a great way to gain political experience and useful skills in public speaking, debating and problem-solving.

There are 39 Councillors across the Windsor Constituency, 35 of which are currently Conservative.

For more information about becoming a Councillor, take a look at the 'Be a Councillor' Project and the Guide to Becoming a Conservative Councillor.

Once elected, you can find help and support from both the Local Governance Association and the Conservative Councillors Association.
