10 Downing Street has been the residence of British prime ministers since 1735. According to Historian, Sir Anthony Seldon it vies with the White House as being the most important political building anywhere in the world in the modern era. Behind its black door is where some of the most important decisions affecting Britain for the last 275 years have been taken.

On 13 July 2016, for only the second time in history, a female was appointed to the role of Prime Minister.

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead is overseen by two MPs, one of whom is the MP for the Windsor Constituency, Adam Afriyie, and the other is the Prime Minister, the Member of Parliament for the Maidenhead Constituency, Theresa May.
