Supper Club
The Supper Club is held on the first Monday of each month and gives members a chance to meet on a sociable basis for a relaxed and informal evening. Organised by Ethi Oepen, members and their friends meet in the restaurant ‘The Duke of Edinburgh’ and a guest speaker is invited to give a talk after dinner. The talks cover a wide span of subjects from local events, historical buildings to social and communal affairs.
Conservative Women’s Organisation (Lunch Club)
The Lunch Club run by the Conservative Women’s Organisation is as popular as ever. Sheila Smith is the Chairlady of this very popular wing of the local party and top rate speakers come from all parts of the country to help us all enjoy our politics a bit more. Recent speakers include Jeremy Hunt MP and Ian Duncan Smith MP.
Friday Informal
The Friday informal is held at the ‘Bexley Arms’ around every six weeks. Organised by Betty Boobyer, it is an informal evening whereby supper is followed by a question and answer session with either our local MP Adam Afriyie or a local Councillor. Adam has confirmed that he will be attending at least six throughout 2009!
Patrons' Club
The Patrons’ club plays a significant role in ensuring that we retain a Conservative Member of Parliament and maintain our strong position locally with respect to our Council seats. It was founded to provide a link for people who have many commitments and little time to be actively involved in the constituency organisation, but who, nevertheless, wish to support the Conservative Party. Chairman, Christine Bateson, organises two quality events a year, including a dinner at the Carlton Club in London in the presence of our MP Adam Afriyie.
Conservative Future (CF)
